Bipolar Disorder
Depression is part of the bipolar cycle, Mania is its complement (meaning manic episodes, not being a maniac.) Bipolar Disorder is characterized by mood swings between the two extremes.
It's a fairly common disorder, and runs a wide range of manifestations. Some people with bipolar disorder experience minor swings, without deep depression or exhilarating manic behavior. Other experience wide and extreme differences between terrible depression and wild manic behavior.
We'll be exploring this condition, how it shows up in people, how it impacts their lives and those around them, and what can be done about it. We'll also be sharing the story of a one particular heroic character coping with bipolar disorder in the vast white countryside of the frozen north - Bipolar Bear.
